Four Steps to Financial Freedom

(Our Bankruptcy Process)

Bankruptcy may sound bad, but the reality is bankruptcy can be your lifeline. In fact, you will not need to recover from bankruptcy, but rather, you will recover through bankruptcy. When you are struggling with your finances and do not have an imminent and solid solution, you will continue to struggle for months on end while unpaid bills pile up and debts mount. As your financial situation deteriorates, stress levels rise and quality-of-life suffers.

The moment you decide to declare bankruptcy, you can stop worrying about bills and start focusing on the things that really matter — such as family, friends, career, or hobbies. With a clean slate, newfound peace and a solid path forward, I can help you rebuild your credit. And once you’re on solid footing, I can offer estate planning services that protect your hard-earned assets from future downturns.

Rebuilding Your Life

If you don’t take proper care of your finances following bankruptcy, it will cost you. Whether it’s failing to raise your credit score (and paying higher interest on future loans) or simply living at – or above – your means rather than accumulating wealth, not having a post-bankruptcy plan puts your financial health at risk.

The Ballard Law Group has contracted with 720CreditScore.com, the creators of “7 Steps to a 720 Credit Score,” to provide this credit-rebuilding program to all of my clients absolutely free as part of their bankruptcy. And while improving your creditworthiness in the near-term (12-24 months) is a solid first step, long-term estate planning cannot be overlooked. When you’re ready, I can evaluate your assets and put protections in place to mitigate losses and fulfill your legacy.

You will meet with Attorney Cha’Ron Ballard to discuss the specifics of your case and explore all bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy options. Bankruptcy is not for everyone, but if it makes sense for you, we will discuss the benefits, which include eliminating debt and the ability to improve your credit score. Most of our clients are surprised to hear that after their bankruptcy, their credit scores can increase to 720, much faster than imagined—usually around 12 to 24 months—when you follow our process.

When you leave our office, you will have the confidence in the next steps and a full understanding of how to increase your credit score to 720 so that after bankruptcy you can receive the best interest rates on loans and credit cards.

Stop Creditor Calls

While you’re putting together the simple things we need to file your BK, we will make sure that all creditors stop calling you.

Sign and File

After you file bankruptcy, your homes, vehicles, and wages will be protected, and you will no longer receive calls and letters from collectors, creditors, and banks.

How To Rebuild

Your Life

After Bankruptcy

Rebuilding Your Life

If you don’t properly rebuild your life after bankruptcy, you are going to overpay on everything in life. For example, if you don’t rebuild your credit score, and you buy a $20,000 car, you can easily overpay between $200 and $300 per month; but it doesn’t have to be this way.

The Ballard Law Group has contracted with 720CreditScore.com, the creators of “7 Steps to a 720 Credit Score,” to provide this program to all of my clients -absolutely free- as part of their bankruptcy. The results speak for themselves… you can have a 720-credit score in 12-24 months after the bankruptcy.

Bankruptcy could be the answer to your financial problems

It’s time to explore your options for a brighter future.

Filing bankruptcy doesn’t have to be scary. It is an acceptable option for responsible adults who want to get their finances back in order. Here in Georgia, filing bankruptcy could:

Filing for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy

When you file for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Georgia, you are essentially given a fresh start financially. Your assets that are not exempt from collection will then be sold, and your creditors each paid a portion of the profits.

After this, you are free of your debt burden. However, it is important to note that you can not eliminate debt from alimony, child support, some taxes, and student loans.

Filing for Chapter 13 Bankruptcy

When you make the decision to file for a Chapter 13 bankruptcy in the state of Georgia, you work with your creditors to create a repayment plan. Over the course of three to five years, you will be expected to make regular payments to pay off your debt. This can prevent you from losing your home or car. After three to five years, your remaining debt will be discharged and you are essentially debt-free, aside from any child support, alimony, some taxes, and student loans.

Chapter 13 is your best option if you have non-exempt property that is valuable. In most other cases, Chapter 7 is ideal.

Answers to some common questions about bankruptcy:

Will I lose my home or car if I file bankruptcy?

In many cases, you will be able to keep both your home and your car. You will be expected, however, to pay its non-exempt value to your creditors.

Will bankruptcy affect my credit?

If you are in a position to file bankruptcy, your credit may already be poor. Filing bankruptcy in Atlanta may not make things much worse but you should know that the bankruptcy filing will be on your credit report for ten years. On the plus side the filing of bankruptcy may put you in a better position to pay your current bills and begin to rebuild your credit. In many cases people who have declared bankruptcy are in a better financial position and with stronger credit scores than those who are still stuck wondering how to pay their overwhelming debts.
